Rule no 1 of writing an article is to start your research and look out for facts.

What if you do not start with the research?

Of course, you are going to write it inaccurately, and you will not reach a point where you can state strong facts or pitch for the story, and as a result, your story will not be effective.

So, in order to avoid this, you need to start your work with research and your main focus should be on gathering accurate facts for your article. Like, you can start by answering these questions.

 

        What event took place?

 

        Who was involved in it?

 

        Where did it happen?

 

        When has it happened?

 

        Why? What are the reasons behind it?

 

        How are different facts connected?

These questions should be on your mind when you are gathering the facts.

What will you do if you are writing an article for the first time?

Of course, you will look for some examples that can give you an idea about how you can write an article.

Look at the other school magazines and the magazines of your past school events and like this, you will know what things you need and which format you can follow for the article. This is how you can explore different ideas and come up on your own.

Stay focused on First Paragraph

Once you are done with your research, you have to start with the first paragraph.

It is the most important part of the article because your introduction decides if your readers are going to stick to your article or not. You have to start with a hook or a catchy quote. This will give a great start to it. Newspaper articles have less space so only important facts and information come first.

Things should go in a descending order in articles and you should add only three things in the first paragraph: hook, important details of events, and main point.

Make a catchy title or Headline

At this point, you need to be more creative.

This is the first thing that your readers read and so, your title should be very catchy so that readers feel compelled to continue reading your article. It is better if your title arouses emotions, evoking or making readers curious about the story. Thus, spend more time on this part.

The body Paragraphs

Article for the newspaper is different from general articles in terms of the sequence.

Like in general articles, you start with little information and you expose more points in the body paragraphs as you do for the essays. But, for news articles, you have to revert the sequence.

The important information is revealed in the first paragraph and the next paragraphs have fewer and fewer details. Be Accurate
